The Adam Scott Lions Rugby Team has been hard at work in preparation of
their upcoming tour of Scotland. The trip of a lifetime awaits us as we continue
to train. Be it running the stairs at 7:00 am or tackling bags at 5:00, our
Rugby Team impatiently awaits the first whistle to be blown to commence our
long awaited tour. We are eager to continue our friendly rivalry with our
outstanding Scottish hosts, in hopes that this tour will prepare us for our
upcoming season in Central Ontario. Lead by Club President & Coach, Brian
Greer, and Coaches: Mr. Faulkner, Mr. Keay, Mr. Wright and Mr. Kulla, our
coaching staff is characterized by knowledge, dedication and experience. Thanks
to them it's all possible.
Adam Scott C.V.I has a strong rugby history. For the past fifteen
years, our senior and junior rugby Lions have won numerous Kawartha, Central
Ontario and Provincial championships. This upcoming season looks to be a rebuilding
year, yet it has the potential to be successful season with some key players
returning. Celebrating our IV Tour of Scotland, Adam Scott continues to offer
exceptional opportunities for playing competitive rugby while building character
through hard work, discipline and commitment.
While in Scotland, our team made up of 15 to 18 year olds, will
play two exhibition matches. The first half of our tour will begin with us
traveling into the beautiful Highlands to face Culloden Academy and then traveling
south into Fife to catch up with our old friends at Dunfermline High School.
Between our two exhibition games, we will be taking in a 6 Nations Match between
Ireland and Scotland, at Scotland's famous Murrayfield. The tour itinerary
appears to be quite busy, with our club visiting many incredible historic
sites including Loch Ness, the Culloden Battlefield, St. Andrew's, Stirling
Castle, the Battlefield of Bannockburn, the Wallace Monument and Edinburgh
Castle.
There are many great times to be shared and many great memories
to be cherished for a lifetime from our tour. We would like to extend a big
"Thank You" to our Scottish friends and hosts, as well as our numerous
sponsors and our parents and family members who have helped and continue to
help make this tour a memorable one for the players and coaches alike. A final
thank you should also go out to our coaches who have put in countless hours
of hard work and preparation in order to make this tour possible. Thank You!
The Lions are coming!
