is an organization that promotes practical teaching of environmental
education in schools and agricultural clubs in Kenya. This
community based organization has helped teachers and students learn
about their local environment.
The plot of land being studied belongs to the community. A total of 15 students, from several different schools, have done research during school and their holidays. With the help of Mr. Odhiambo Rapemo, they completed their field work and wrote up a report of their findings. Oyugis Town is situated in Nyanza Province in the western part of Kenya. It is on the edge of the highlands, in a very mountainous part of the country. The goal of the study was to determine what plants were present in the community plot of land, and to determine their value to the community. |
