Our newest addition is Thandiwe Mfiri . Thandiwe enjoys playing with dolls, and making toys. Her tasks around the house are to help collect firewood. Presently she is attending primary school in Grade One. Her favourite subjects are mathematics and English. It takes her about 30 minutes to walk to school.

Our donations support Thandiwe and her community to improve living conditions. Our donations pay for school fees for Thandiwe in part as well as other children in the community to attend primary and secondary school. In an attempt to continue improving children’s right, all school children participate in sporting activities such as football. The aim of the activities is to ensure that children realize their potential in different aspects of learning. With our support through donations, Foster Parents Plan has provide medicine in medical clinics to compliment community efforts in fighting AIDS.

Last year was not a good year in Thandiwe’s community. Many farm crops were destroyed by drought. A similar drought occurred this year. Thandiwe’s family relies heavily on agricultural produce. Foster Parent’s Plan felt it necessary to continue giving sponsored children and other children corn and beans regularly in order to supplement their food reserves.
